SCHOOLCHILDREN had a flippin’ fantastic time in Leeds as they took part in the city’s annual pancake race celebrations.

The event was held a few days earlier than usual this year as Shrove Tuesday falls during next week’s half-term holiday.

But that didn’t stop the youngsters having their normal king-size helping of fun at the races, which were staged in the historic Church Yard of Leeds Minster this afternoon.
