Parking fright

It was a driving mistake which could have ended in disaster for a 67-year-old motorist in a US multi-storey car park.

The driver of this car had a narrow escape after accidentally reversing through an external wall, on the seventh floor of the building.

The incident left the full rear end of the vehicle poking through the building wall, with driver Ralph Hudson blaming a problem with his foot becoming stuck between the brake and accelerator pedals of his Mercedes as he was manoeuvring in the garage in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

It stopped just in time to avoid its rear wheels rolling out of the building.

The explanation was enough to satisfy police, who later confirmed that Mr Hudson would not be given a summons over the incident.

Staff were able to drive the car safely back inside, leaving the vehicle and building in need of repairs.
