Pc charged overpedestrian death

A police officer who was driving a car which hit a pedestrian in a Doncaster village is to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving, the Independent Police Complaints Commission said yesterday.

Pc David Allen was driving a marked police patrol car in Denaby Main, in March 2009, which hit and killed Ian Hambrey, 49. A second officer, who was a passenger in the car, will not face any criminal charges.
