An earthquake or sonic boom? This is why Selby and other parts of Yorkshire 'shook' this morning
Taking to Twitter this morning (July 24) Martin said: "10:01 Yorkshire. Sonic boom?" while Martin O'Brien joked: "Earthquake in Selby? Or maybe a big lorry going to Tesco."
However, in actual fact, it was not a sonic boom or an earthquake, but the demolition of the final tower demolition at Eggborough power station.

The demolition saw the two structures collapsed in a controlled manner with the use of high-speed explosives.
The 50,000-tonne steel framed Boiler House and 20,000-tonne 200m tall reinforced concrete Chimney were collapsed over a 10 second period.
The structures were previously part of the decommissioned Eggborough Power Station Plant that was closed down in 2018.
