The bird was rescued in West Yorkshire yesterday morning (Thursday) after jumping from a lorry at a service station off the M62 motorway, in what may have been a clever dash for freedom.
The quick-thinking RSPCA officer to save her was praised as a "hero" after saving her, with the story likened to the 2000-blockbuster Chicken Run.
She is now being looked after in a temporary home before being moved to a sanctuary.
A tweet from the charity's frontline officers shared pictures of the chicken, reading: "I rescued this cutie this morning in West Yorkshire after she jumped off a lorry at a service station off the M62- a real-life Chicken Run!
"She's staying with me for now before being moved to a lovely rescue this weekend".
One response to the tweet read: "Thank you for not sending her back! Hero! I wished all the farm animals sent to slaughter got away to freedom".
