One ticket matched all seven numbers to win £195,707,000 – making them the biggest jackpot winner of all time.
This surpasses the previous record-holders who won £184m in May.
Yorkshire has had its fair share of winners over the years - though none of that magnitude. Here are some of the region's winners over the years...

. Alex Best - £1m
Leeds born Alex Best won £1m thanks to the National Lottery back in 2018. After paying off his student loan from University of Bolton, buying a house and purchasing his first car, Alex set about making his career dreams come true by using the money to pursue work in the music industry. . The Wraggs - £7.6m
The best-known winners from South Yorkshire are philanthropic couple Ray and Barbara Wragg, who won £7.6million in 2000 and gave away more than £5m of it to friends, family and charities. Sadly, Barbara passed away in 2018 aged 77 – ever since, husband Ray has been fulfilling his wife’s wishes for him to live life to the fullest with their winnings.

5. Deana Sampson - £5.4
Sheffield hairdresser Deana Sampson also swapped her city council home for a luxury conversion in Baslow after scooping £5.4m. She had just £3.60 in her bank accounts when she matched her numbers in 1996. Her first purchase was a new pair of trainers. Photo: The National Lottery

6. Beverley Doran - £14.5m.
Beverley Doran, a single mother-of-four, from Shipley, won £14.5million back in 2017. She immediately started looking at houses and went to Harrogate for a weekend of celebrations. At the time she said: "Now I can be debt free. Before all my money went on the children and I went around in rags. The main thing is that my children are going to be fine.” Photo: The National Lottery

7. Niki Otterburn - £2.12
Niki Otterburn, 43, was working as a fitness instructor in a Leeds gym when she won £2,216,029 in November 2001. She was watching the live draw on the gyms television when she realised she’d won big, and used the money to pursue her passion for horse riding. She now spends her days training her four horses from a smallholding in Thirsk. Photo: The National Lottery

8. Jane Cunningham - £7.54m
Jane Cunningham, 54, from North Yorkshire, scooped £7,544,200 in December 2008 – just after the credit crunch hit. The mother-of-seven said she and her husband, TV stuntman Mark, had always “muddled through” but with so many children it was a struggle. As well as moving her family from their small end-of-terrace house in Whitby to a farm near York, Mrs Cunningham tied the knot with her long-term fiancé shortly after the win, and has also been able to help out local charities and friends.
