A popular Christmas attraction, the York Christmas Market is set to open on Thursday, November 17.
Hundreds of thousands of people flock to the city for some festive fun. This year there will be 70 alpine chalets selling local produce and artisan gifts.
The Winter Hütte will also open for the first time. The Swiss chalet is the brainchild of Michelin-starred Andrew Pern, of The Star Inn At Harome.
