Halloween Howl: Iconic Vulcan bomber roars into life at Doncaster Sheffield Airport

A spectacular Halloween event brought aviation history to life as the iconic Avro Vulcan XH558 took centre stage at Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Aviation enthusiasts and families were invited to enjoy a unique Halloween celebration at Doncaster Sheffield Airport on Saturday (Oct 31).

Organised by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust, the Halloween Howl event combined historic aircraft with spooky entertainment and family-friendly activities.

The main attraction was a planned stationary engine ground run of Vulcan XH558, allowing visitors to experience the distinctive sound of its four Rolls-Royce Olympus engines, famously known as the 'Vulcan Howl'.

The event also featured static displays of Vulcan XH558 and Canberra WK163, alongside classic vehicles, traders, food vendors and themed entertainment.

Visitors could also enjoy appearances by characters inspired by popular franchises including Star Wars and Ghostbusters.

The event celebrated Britain's aviation heritage while offering a Halloween experience with a difference.
