‘I blinged up my mobility scooter’ - Meet the Keighley woman who put her mind to something positive after losing her husband

When a pensioner was left widowed almost a decade ago, she decided to do something positive with her grief to cheer others up.

Adele Williams embarked on a journey to ‘bling up’ her mobility scooter which she calls Tallulah.

After her husband died Adele, who lives in Keighley, went on her first solo quest with her seemingly bleak mobility scooter and decided to make a change.

She started with small embellishments before re-lining Tallulah with flamboyant pinks, purple and silver materials.

Adele said: “For two and half years I couldn’t afford a microwave or oven because I spent all my money on doing up Tallulah.

“My husband was called Robbie, so they didn’t believe us at passport control when they saw our passports. We were Adele and Robbie Williams.”

“I just want to make people happy,” added Adele.

Now Adele and Tallulah keep each other company. The pair are well known around Keighley town centre.

Tourists even pose for photos and videos.

She said: “We’re famous all over the world.”
