The UK’s top police dog teams put their skills to the test as the 64th annual National Police Dog Trials took place in Nostell, near Wakefield.
Hosted by West Yorkshire Police, the free family event brought together 21 police dogs and handlers from forces across the country to compete in a series of specialist challenges.
The competition showcased the dogs’ training, discipline and role in public safety, with teams tested across three phases of the trials.
These included tracking a person using scent, searching areas for hidden suspects, and criminal work exercises involving obedience and agility tasks.
