Paddy McGuinness crashes Lamborghini while filming Top Gear in the Yorkshire Dales

The BBC has confirmed that comedian and Top Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness has crashed the supercar he was driving during filming today.

The Top Gear team were in the Ribblehead area and also visited Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales in a fleet of three retro supercars.

McGuinness, 46, was driving a red Lamborghini Diablo when it left the B6255 near Ribblehead and came to rest in a field at around 3pm.

He was unhurt but shaken. No other vehicles were involved.

The accident was attended by a police officer who was patrolling the road at the time. North Yorkshire Police were also monitoring the filming.

The BBC said the car had 'skidded' and come to an almost immediate stop.

It was travelling within the 60mph speed limit for the road.

Photos shared on social media show the Diablo and two other supercars in convoy before the crash.
