Residents of Leeds proudly clap for our carers as nation pays tribute to the health service

Residents of Leeds proudly clapped for our carers tonight as the nation paid tribute to the health service.

Former Leeds United stars including Howard Wilkinson and Brian Deane also joined the 'clap for our carers' tonight - as Elland Road lit up in blue for the NHS.

Every Thursday at 8pm the country comes together to celebrate those who are fighting on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.

Across Yorkshire, many took to social media to post videos of their thanks to the incredible work done by the NHS.
