Yorkshire Wildlife Park is set to reopen as tickets go on sale for Summer

The park has been closed multiple times during the pandemic due to Covid restrictions.

However, in line with the lifting of lockdown, the park is set to reopen on April 12, 2021.

In a social media post on Tuesday, the park announced: "It's the moment you've ALL been waiting for...

"We are excited to announce that park tickets are now available to book from April 12th 2021! with even more dates throughout Summer available very soon...

"We will continue to do everything we can to keep guests and staff safe, we can't wait to welcome you back soon."

Tickets are now on sale on the website.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to more than 450 animals including many endangered species.

The centre for educational and conservation work has had to be put on hold due to the current restrictions according to the park.

Recently, animals based at Yorkshire Wildlife Park have been helping poorly children understand social distancing rules in Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Life-size cut-outs of the animals, including an Amur tiger and rhinoceros, have been placed around the wards to help remind people of coronavirus guidance.

An Amur tiger warns hospital visitors to keep two metres apart while one of the parks much-loved polar bears reminds everyone to wash their hands regularly.

A rhinoceros asks staff and visitors to keep to the left when moving around the hospital and a male lion reminds patients and their families not to be early for appointments.

Designed to capture the spirit of the Children’s Hospital, the project is going down a storm with patients and staff.
