Philanthropist on the receiving end

Philanthropist Marjorie Ziff has been recognised with an MBE for her services to the community in Leeds.

The widow of the late businessman Arnold Ziff is well known for her generosity to the West Yorkshire city, continuing the charitable work she began with her late husband, supporting causes including Tropical World in Roundhay.

Last year Dr Ziff celebrated her 80th birthday by opening a 16m Leeds University building bearing her name and that of her late husband. The Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Charitable Foundation was a major funder of the administrative building.
