Police in fresh appeal over Leeds arson attack

Police investigating an arson attack last month which left a car and a garage badly damaged have renewed an appeal for witnesses.

The black Jaguar was on Kitson Street, Tingley, when it was set on fire shortly before midnight on Monday, August 17.

The flames spread from the vehicle to a garage - and police say it was lucky no-one was injured.

Detective Constable Phillip Joyce, of Leeds CID, said: “We are appealing for information regarding this fire, which was started deliberately, and which caused significant damage to a car and to a garage.

“This blaze could very easily have spread to the house potentially with even more serious consequences, and it is important we catch whoever is responsible as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Joyce at Elland Road police station via the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
