Police issue order to close doors and windows after Yorkshire chemical spill

Police have ordered residents in Huddersfield to close their doors and windows following a chemical spill.

Residents who live on Leeds Road have been asked by West Yorkshire Police to take the precaution after a chemical leak was reported at a nearby plant.

Firefighters have been called to the scene.

West Yorkshire Police tweeted: "As a precaution, police and West Yorkshire Fire are advising residents in vicinity of Leeds Road, Huddersfield, to keep doors and windows shut following a chemical leak at a plant in that area."
