Police name motorcyclist who died after Leeds A64 horror crash

Police today named the motorcyclist who died following a crash on a busy Leeds commuter road.

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision on the A64 York Road yesterday (Sept 17) which tragically resulted in the death of Robert Malcolm Liddle.

The incident occured around 12pm, when a Yamaha R1 motorcycle being ridden by Mr Liddle and a Citroen C2 car collided on the A64 York Road, near to the junction of Kiddal Lane.

Mr Liddle, 40 and from Leeds, was treated at the scene by paramedics but died a short time later.

The 42-year-male driver of the Citroen was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen either vehicle in the time before the collision is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.
