Pamela Jackson, 55, has not been seen since March 2 when she was at her home in The Crescent, Chester-le-Street, County Durham.

Her boyfriend Adrian Muir, 50, from Calder Terrace, Halifax, West Yorkshire, was charged with her murder on Monday and will appear before Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday.

Durham Police are running a murder investigation while also conducting a search for her.

She has three sons Andrew, 35, Christopher, 27, and Joe, 21, and four grandchildren. She is an active user of Facebook but has not been in contact with friends or family since she was last seen.

Police have handed out posters at shops in the town centre urging anyone who might have seen Ms Jackson, or been in recent contact with her, to get in touch.

She is also known to many people as Cris or Crissie as her middle name is Christina and in the recent past she has also gone under the surname Bullerio.

Superintendent Graham Hall, who is leading the police investigation into Ms Jackson’s disappearance said: “One of our main actions is to flood the local area with these posters and get our officers out in the town, speaking to people and building up a picture of Pamela’s lifestyle.

“We have already learned Pamela often visited local charity shops and other places in the town, and these potential leads will be actively followed up over the coming days.”

Forensic work is continuing at the family’s three-bedroom house in The Crescent, and detectives from Durham are liaising with their colleagues in West Yorkshire.
