Police say death of man found in woods near Scarborough 'not believed to be suspicious'

North Yorkshire Police say the death of a man whose body was found in woodland near Scarborough is 'not believed to be suspicious.

Police were called to the sudden death of a man aged in his late 30s who was found in woodland at Hayburn Wyke, near Cloughton, Scarborough, at 2.20pm yesterday (April 21).

Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team assisted with the recovery the body.

The force say the man's next of kin have been informed about the death although formal identification has yet to take place.

A spokesman for the force said: "The death is not believed to be suspicious and officers are compiling a report for the coroner."
