Cameron hails Tour de Yorkshire

David Cameron heaped praise on Yorkshire’s hosting of the Tour de France at Prime Minister’s Questions today.

Speaking at the start of Prime Minister’s Questions today, Mr Cameron said: “I’m sure the whole house will want to join with me in paying tribute to all those involved in the start of the Tour de France in Britain.

“From the event organisers to all the great cyclists I think this event showcased the best of Yorkshire and the whole of Britain has to offer and I was delighted to see such incredible support throughout the race.”

Labour Leader Ed Miliband said: “I’d like to join the Prime Minister in paying tribute to the way the organisers, cyclists and the millions of fans made the Tour de France such a brilliant success for Britain.

“I was proud to be watching it on the streets as I know he was. I was in Leeds with hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets.”
