Yorkshire has played a huge part in the 2019 General Election, which saw the Conservative Party come away with a healthy majority.

It was a dreadful night for the Labour Party, but there were two glimmers of hope in Yorkshire, as they held onto Sheffield Hallam and also increased their majority in Leeds North West.

But they were only glimmers, as the so-called 'Red Wall' in the North came crashing down. High profile casualties included Caroline Flint and Mary Creagh.
