Lord goes ape over Tarzan ban

FILM-MAKER Lord Puttnam has criticised peers who blocked filming for the latest Tarzan movie from taking place in the House of Lords.

Hollywood giant Warner Bros, who are making the film, Tarzan The Untamed, wanted to use the chamber because the character Tarzan is the son of a British lord and lady. But the House Committee decided it would not be suitable to let the plans go ahead.

Lord Puttnam said it was “wrong” to argue that the Lords would be belittled by letting filming.

He said: “There are always forces of reaction. In the end, you have to overcome them.”
