Students target Nick Clegg’s office

Student protestors have staged an occupy protest at the deputy prime minister’s Sheffield constituency.

Students held a protest outside Nick Clegg's constituency office

In a 10 minute demonstration students managed to gain access to Mr Clegg’s Sheffield Hallam office as part of a “no to austerity” campaign.

The demonstration, organised by the Free University of Sheffield, came as a response to Mr Clegg’s decision to back the Tory’s tuition fee policy in 2010.

A Liberal Democrat spokesman said: “Earlier today, a small group of people briefly entered the office. They were asked to leave by a member of staff but refused.

“The police were called and the group left peacefully after a short sit in protest.”

No one was hurt in the brief demonstration.
