The Yorkshire Post says: Age-old questions. Stop the betrayal of dementia patients
He’s not the first politician to tackle this age-old question – a consensus has been building for many years and is given further impetus by today’s Age UK report into the extent to which newly-diagnosed dementia sufferers are denied follow-up care.
Not only does this harm their quality of life, but it has the potential to place the care system under even greater strain at a later date when their health does deteriorate. Given this false economy, the wake-up call needs to be heeded before even more people are let down by a lack of joined-up care and common sense.
