Union backs calls for joint strike action
Momentum is now building for a mass walkout on July 10 in protest at coalition policies on pay, jobs and public sector cuts.
A strike could involve council workers, teachers, firefighters, civil servants and others employed in the public sector. Further stoppages later in the year could involve health workers, who are angry that the Government refused to accept a recommended across-the-board one per cent wage rise.
