Prince is under starter’s orders as racetrack patron
The Duke of York’s new role comes just weeks after he opened the new weighing room facility at the iconic track which plays host to the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival next week.

Hide AdHis Royal Highness has enjoyed a long association with the racecourse – he has previously visited the Knavesmire in his capacity as Colonel-in-Chief of the Yorkshire Regiment when soldiers returning from active service were hosted on the opening day in 2012, for their homecoming ceremony.
York chairman Lord Grimthorpe said: “He will be a wonderful ambassador for the racecourse and we hope, with his help, York will continue to improve as one of the world’s leading racecourses.”
