Rail line closed after train death near Leeds

Trains between Leeds and York and Selby were replaced by buses while the scene was cleared.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed the unidentified person was hit by the 17.22 Liverpool to Scarborough train and died at the scene.

The incident was “non-suspicious” and the files would be passed to the coroner’s office, the spokesperson added.
