Ribble Way walk challenge launched

National charity Sue Ryder Care has launched its annual Ribble Way Challenge and registration is now open.

The event will see walkers following the Ribble Way pathway along the River Ribble from the Ribblehead Viaduct, Settle and finishing at Preston Docks. The walk starts on Saturday, June 18 and finishes the next day. The challenge is for walkers to complete the 100km route in under 30 hours.

Teams of four walkers will have support crew who will be on

hand to help them complete the event.

The Ribble Way Challenge is now an established event and over the last two years 240 participants have taken part and have raised almost 48,000.

The money raised has covered the equivalent cost of running a Neurological Care Centre for 10 days, which provides expert

and compassionate care and support for people living with serious illnesses and conditions such as cancer, stroke, brain injury,

multiple sclerosis, dementia, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease and Motor Neurone disease.
