Robbers surrounded takeaway delivery driver's car in Huddersfield

A takeaway delivery driver was robbed in Huddersfield after his car was surrounded by a group of people who demanded food.

West Yorkshire Police today released details of the incident in Gilbert Grove, which took place on Wednesday afternoon.

The driver was flagged down between 4.40pm and 4.50pm by three people who demanded they have some food.

Three more people arrived and surrounded the car, before two of the group forced the driver out of his vehicle.

The group left after two other people entered the car and took food from inside.

Officers have descriptions for five people who they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The first was described as a black man, aged 18, 5ft 7in and slim, with short curly dark hair. He was clean shaven, wore a black woollen tracksuit with white writing and also had a small black 'man' bag with a white line on it.

The second was described as a black man, aged 20-22, of stocky build and between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall. He was also clean shaven.

The third was described as black, aged 20 and of slim build.

A fourth man was described as black and aged 28.

The fifth was described as being of mixed race with close cut hair. He was aged 28 and of medium build.
