Rod Stewart sailing into Leeds and Sheffield on new tour

Music legend Rod Stewart is bringing his hits to Sheffield and Leeds, it was announced today.

He plays Sheffield Arena on Tuesday, November 29, then Leeds First Direct Arena on Tuesday, December 6,

It’s part of a seven date arena tour - called From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits 2016 - that will also see him play Liverpool, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow in November and December this year.

He said: “What a great line-up of venues. These are some of my favourite buildings in my favourite cities. I give you fair warning – fasten your seat belts. I’m pulling out all the stops! “

Tickets will go on sale Friday, February 5, from 9am.

The tour is set to delight fans up and down the UK as he takes to the stage bringing with him his biggest hits from 1970 to 2016.

Demand for Stewart’s spectacular live shows are as strong as ever following the recent release of musical legend’s 29th critically acclaimed platinum selling album Another Country, which shot straight to number two in October 2015.

He will perform a set of both classics, spanning five decades, and new hits in his dazzling signature style including the likes of You Wear It Well, Maggie May, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Baby Jane, The First Cut is the Deepest, I Don’t Want To Talk About It, Tonight’s The Night, The Killing of Georgie and Sailing.

Stewart will also play hits off his most recent platinum-selling albums Time and Another Country.

He is one of the best selling artists in the history of recorded music, with over 200 million records sold worldwide.

His signature voice, style and haircut have transcended all genres of popular music, from rock and roll, new wave and even tackling the Great American Song Book; making him one of the few stars to enjoy continued success over five decades.

He has garnered two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and won countless awards including a Grammy and the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting, Stewart is sure to enjoy many more years of success in the studio and on the stage alike,
