Rugby league coming home
Young Rugby League fan Cameron Covell, from Leeds, looks up the Rugby League World Cup, which was on display at Bradford’s Midland Hotel, from where it was famously stolen over 40 years ago.
It was taken from Midland in 1970 from under the noses of the Australian team. The cup was found among rubbish in nearby Bingley 20 years later. Tickets for the Rugby League World Cup, which starts later this month, are now on sale. Stadiums in Hull, Leeds, Huddersfield, Halifax, are hosting games. PICTURE: SIMON HULME
