Schoolboy, 12, dragged into alleyway by man in Huddersfield

A 12-year-old boy has been pulled into an alleyway by a man in Huddersfield, sparking a police appeal.

The boy was on Ashbrow Road in Sheepridge, Huddersfield, when he was approached by the man and dragged into an alleyway leading to Central Avenue on Sunday at around 8.30pm.

The boy screamed, causing the man to let him go and run off towards Central Avenue.

He is described as Asian, aged around 30, 5ft 6ins tall, with brown hair and a fringe. He was wearing a dark blue coat, black trousers and a scarf which was covering half of his face.

Detective Sergeant Adrian Belle, of Kirklees District CID, said: “While we understand that this incident may cause some concern in the wider community, we would stress that this appears to be an isolated incident and the motives behind this man’s actions are unclear.”
