Search for cars in Goole after thieves target two homes in one evening

Thieves targeted a home in Jefferson Street between 11.30pm on Friday and 7am on Saturday, and stole a laptop and a grey Volkswagen Golf after taking the keys.

On the same evening, a home in Newport Street, Goole, was also broken into between 10.30pm on and 8.30am on Saturday.

The thieves stole a mobile phone and a silver Vauxhall Corsa that was parked on the drive.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "It is not known if the two incidents are connected, however we would remind residents to ensure that all doors and locked and windows are closed when they go to bed.

"Make sure they hide the keys to their homes and cars as opportunist thieves will look in obvious places."
