Student brewers’ stout showing

BREWERS from Sheffield University have won through to the European finals of a beer competition.

The contest is run by AB InBev, the company behind both Stella Artois and Budweiser.

The brew, called 114 Sheffield Students’ Beer, a name chosen in recognition of the 114 original students at the university for its inception in 1905, includes honey made at the university’s own beehives.

At the European finals in Belgium on Tuesday, April 30, the Sheffield team will compete against Anglia Ruskin University of Cambridge and two Belgian university teams.
