Support call for trafficked children

Children thought to have been trafficked should be assigned an adult they trust to help them understand their rights, a report has recommended.

missing from care because of
variations in the quality of
support they receive, the study found.

Some were being sent to adult prisons – for offences they committed while under the control of traffickers – with others put in immigration detention centres because of a failure to realise their status – or their age – the report by the Refugee Council and the Children’s Society said.
