Takeaway lunch aids age charity

THE Mayor of Beverley is backing a charity fund-raising event organised by top local restaurateur Tina Cerutti.

Mrs Cerutti, who runs the Cerutti 2 restaurant in Beverley, is again cooking up a Sunday takeaway lunch to raise funds for Age UK East Riding.

Mrs Cerutti and her team are cooking up hundreds of takeaway roast chicken meals on Sunday, November 20.

There is still time to book a meal, costing just £3.50. People are also being encouraged to pick one of the lunches up for an elderly relative or neighbour. All the cash raised goes to Age UK East Riding to provide services for older people in the area.

The Mayor, Coun Peter Astell, said he hopes people will support the fund raising event.

“It is an ideal opportunity for people to enjoy a Sunday roast without having to do the cooking themselves and at £3.50 is very good value, especially from Tina Cerutti’s, which is a top restaurant,” he added.

The takeaways must be booked in advance by calling 01482 869181 or 866700 and paid for on collection from the restaurant on Station Square, Beverley, on the day between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
