Teenager died in freak bike accident on hill in front of father
Connor Tandy, 15, had been riding down a steep hill in Blacker Lane, Netherton, Wakefield, with his his father Roger when the tragedy happened, an inquest heard yesterday.
Connor, of Lupset, Wakefield, had not been wearing a helmet when he was killed on June 11 last year, but a post mortem examination revealed it would not have saved his life because of the way he fell.

collapsed in the street just a year before the accident, had only started road cycling a few months before the accident.
Mr Connor saw his son's front tyre touch the kerb and him falling. He only realised the extent of Connor's injuries when he stopped and realised he was unconscious and bleeding from the back of the head.
Connor died from a skull fracture and brain injuries.
Coroner Mary Burke recorded a verdict of accidental death and said she would be writing to the Highways Authority to ask them to put more warnings signs on the road, which she said might reduce the risk.
