Tennis club’s future secured

Councillors approved plans to create new all-weather courts, indoor courts, extra parking spaces and improved gym facilities at Ilkley Tennis Club.

The application that went before Bradford Council had already been altered after a planned overspill car park was dropped and a new public walkway to the site included.

A petition containing 140 signatures against the scheme has been submitted to Bradford Council along with 62 letters of objection.

However, 23 people have written to the local authority supporting the plans which have won the backing of Ilkley Parish Council and The British Lawn Tennis Association.”
