Theatre on lookout for the King's treasures as Elvis makes comeback

FANS of music legend Elvis Presley are being urged to donate memorabilia to an exhibition in his honour to coincide with a forthcoming production of Cooking With Elvis at Hull Truck Theatre.

Theatre staff hope to decorate the lower foyer of the Ferensway building with memorabilia to accompany the revival of the one of the most popular plays ever staged by Hull Truck.

The items will be attached to the wire cages in the foyer, developed by architects Wright & Wright based on inspiration from the film Jailhouse Rock.

Theatre marketing assistant Richard Sutherland said: "Having Cooking With Elvis back at Hull Truck is very exciting for all of us and we want to add to the buzz around the show with an exhibition dedicated to the King.

"Whether it is posters, records, photos, magazines, whatever people would like to loan us would be much appreciated.

"We know there are lots of enthusiastic Elvis fans in the area and would really like to get them behind this great event."

The play will feature three of the original cast – Chris Connell, Jackie Lye and Jim Kitson – and will also feature Victoria Elliott.

The exhibition will be staged during the play's run from June 24 to July 10. To loan items call 01482 325012 or email richard. [email protected].
