Thugs attack pensioner and kill his Yorkshire Terrier on Sheffield street

A PENSIONER was allegedly attacked and his dog killed in a street attack in Sheffield.

Police believe the 68-year-old man was assaulted and the dog attacked by three people unknown to the victim as he walked with his pet, a cross-breed Yorkshire Terrier, towards a block of flats in Fox Hill Crescent.

Six days on from the incident, the victim remains in hospital for treatment.

South Yorkshire Police have released the details of attack today as they appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, which occurred at 10.50pm on Wednesday 10 February, to contact them.

Witnesses are asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident number 1211 of 10 February 2016.
