Friends Chris Clyburn, Ai Lyn Tan, Chris Dunne, Ives Solo, Dave Walton and Pete Crampton have decided to mark the Grand Départ’s visit to the region by cycling from Paris to Leeds in the summer. The ‘Pavé to Cobble’ fundraisers aim to raise £10,000 for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal in memory of the late cancer fighter before they reach their finish line outside Pin Bar, in Dock Street, days before the July 5 Grand Départ. News of the challenge comes as Welcome to Yorkshire publicity cars set out to spread the White Rose word at the Spring Classic cycling series, which takes part in France, Belgium and the Netherlands from March 16.
