Top Yorkshire restaurant closes

A restaurant that helped to put Leeds on the culinary map has closed.

Super chef Anthony Flinn built up his gastronomic empire in the city over the last nine years with his father, also called Anthony Flinn.

The pair established Anthony’s Restaurant on Boar Lane which was heralded as a trailblazer in Leeds and put the city on the nation’s culinary map.

They also own three other dining spots including Piazza by Anthony in the Corn Exchange, Rib Shakk and Anthony’s Patisserie in Victoria Quarter.

It was reported earlier this year that the flagship restaurant, which was opened in 2004, had also moved from its Boar Lane home to the Corn Exchange.

A notice on the Corn Exchange’s website today said: “Very sad news that Anthony’s has closed.”
