Young visitors will be able to step back in time by riding on Gilligan’s Galloping Carousel, an authentic children’s roundabout from the Edwardian period which was popular on the streets of Castleford.

Other exhibits include a toy mangle dating back to the 19th century and a wooden Noah’s Ark set including 28 pairs of animals made in Germany between 1860 and 1900. Children can also enjoy the museum’s castle- inspired play area and a special teddy trail around the gallery. picture: mike cowling
