Tragic find after car park death leap

An investigation has been launched into the deaths of a couple after a 71-year-old man was reported to have jumped from a multi-storey car park.

Police later found the body of a 70-year-old woman in a bedroom at the man's home address in Horsham, West Sussex.

Sussex Police were called to Swan Walk in Horsham after the man was reported to have jumped from the four-storey building just before 10.30am on Saturday.

They found his body in a church car park and he was declared dead at the scene.

Officers then visited the dead man's home in the town and found the woman's body.

It is believed the couple, who have not been named, were married.

A post-mortem examination on the woman is due to be held at New East Surrey Hospital mortuary, Redhill. Her death is being treated as suspicious.
