Train vigilante will not be prosecuted

A man caught on camera throwing an alleged fare dodger off a train will not be prosecuted.

A video, which shows Alan Pollock removing teenager Sam Main from a ScotRail Edinburgh to Perth service in December, was watched online by millions of people.

The clip, filmed on a mobile phone, became an internet sensation on YouTube. It shows Mr Main, 19, in dispute with a conductor about a fare before being lifted and thrown off the train by Mr Pollock, 35, from Stirling.

He was charged over an alleged assault but the Crown Office said last night it was not in the public interest to prosecute either of the men. Mr Main had also been charged.
