A64 traffic: Road closed after huge sinkhole appears in village between York and Scarborough and starts filling with water
Traffic is being diverted off the A64 after a large sinkhole was discovered in a village between Malton and Scarborough.
North Yorkshire Police said: "A hole has appeared in the road at the crossroads in Rillington.
"The hole is filling with water and Yorkshire Water are in attendance along with North Yorkshire Police.
"Traffic is being diverted through the village until the situation can be properly assessed.
"Thank you for your patience."
