Drivers facing delays as firefighters tackle blaze at Leeds Cross Green Industrial Estate

Traffic delays are being reported as firefighters tackle a large fire at an industrial estate in Leeds.

At least six fire engines are at Cross Green Industrial Estate to deal with a blaze at a pallet yard, which is thought to have started shortly before 3.30pm.

Firefighters from Gipton, Hunslet, Leeds, Garforth and Moortown fire stations are at the scene.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: “We are currently dealing with large fire in pallet yard, off Pontefract Lane, Leeds.

“No persons injured or rescues required, 6 fire engines.”

Delays are being reported on the A63 East Leeds Link Road following the closure of the road between Cross Green Approach and Knowsthorpe Gate.

Twitter user @mattwalkerleeds wrote: “Avoid cross green link road in leeds. Massive congestion. Nobody moving.”
