Hull student ‘on missing Malaysia Airlines flight’

A CHINESE student at Hull University Business School is believed to be among the 239 people on board the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

Yue Wenchao, 26, had moved to the UK to study for a masters degree in the city.

Today the university said it was “deeply concerned” about Mr Wenchao, though it could not confirm that he was on the flight.

The Straits Times reported the student tweeted his girlfriend “See you in Beijing!” on the Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo, an hour before he boarded the flight.

Hull University said in a statement: “We are deeply concerned to hear that Yue Wenchao, a student in the final stages of his MSc degree with Hull University Business School, may be among the passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines flight.

“Although we are not able to confirm these reports at this time, our thoughts are with the friends and relatives of all those affected.”
