M62 traffic delays: Traffic stopped in both directions on M1 in Yorkshire due to police incident

Police are holding all traffic between J42 for the M62 and J41 for Wakefield due to a ‘police led incident’.

Congestion is building in both directions, Highways Yorkshire said.

Traffic has now been released in both directions on the M1 in West Yorkshire between J42 (for M62) and J41 (Wakefield).

All lanes have re-opened northbound, but two lanes remain closed southbound.

There are very long delays in both directions.
