A1(M) traffic: Three miles of traffic on motorway after two of three lanes closed

Miles of traffic is building on the A1(M) after two lanes were closed by National Highways.

The two lanes are closed on the southbound carrigeway at junction 49 for Dishforth.

National Highways Yorkshire tweeted: "2 lanes (of 3) are closed on the #A1M southbound at J49 #Dishforth. this is starting to cause delays with approx. 3 miles of congestion which is likely to add around 20 minutes to normal journey times."

All lanes reopened at around 9.30am.
